Dream home gets the full cinema room treatment, with star ceiling, transparent screen and 5.2.4 Atmos

For this install our client had just bought their dream home and wanted a cinema room to complete the package.

Besides the 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos based audio we also installed a star ceiling, built the step up for the rear row of seating and wired audio to 3 zones in the house. Ubiquiti WiFi units take care of distribution of a flawless signal throughout the home, with a reliable WiFi connection no matter where you are on the property. We also installed a security system based around a 5 camera HIK Vision system, for whole-home coverage and peace of mind.

In terms of visuals for the home cinema room, the standout gear is the Epson 9400 projector with 135” Elitescreens AcousticPro transparent screen. Let’s take a closer look at what a transparent screen is and the tech behind it.

What is a transparent screen for home cinema?

A transparent projection screen is made of a dense synthetic weave which allows sound to pass through it. This means you can combine this type of screen with in-wall speakers installed behind it, which function as front speakers, with the sound coming ‘through’ the screen. There is no impact on sound quality, and the fabric is often perforated to enhance the penetration of sound. The surface of the screen is also treated to reject ambient light and ceiling lighting – for optimal picture quality.
